Our vision is to ensure all children feel seen and cared for, creating a positive impact for the futures of local and national communities.
Our Approach
At The Suitcase Initiative, our mission is to preserve each child’s sense of dignity, self-confidence, and stability while they navigate through crisis and transition into new environments. By providing luggage as an alternative to a mere trash bag, our continued efforts will uplift the community and nurture the futures of children who experience foster care.
Our Impact
Since launching in July 2022, we have impacted the lives of over 45 children through our suitcase provision program. We have seen children who were once dehumanized by moving with trash bags, now with dignity and confidence by moving with suitcases. We are proud of the positive impact we have made in their lives.
Meet the Team!
President, Founding Member
Madison: Created TSII after working with foster children living at a residential facility. During her time, she experienced children coming to her in tears to ask for trash bags to hold their personal belongings when moving into unstable living situations. Her mission is to never let this happen again. Madison holds a Master's degree in ABA, BCBA, and is currently working as a Clinical Director.
Vice President, Founding Member
Jenn: Passionate about children in foster care, fitness, and the Dallas Cowboys! Jenn worked alongside Madison at the residential facility, where she decided there had to be something more she could do to help. Jenn holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice and is currently working as a gym teacher.
Secretarial Coordinator, Founding Member
Aleiss: Compassionate and caring, she puts the lives of her children as well as those around her above her own. She loves nature, and never passes up an opportunity to connect with others. Aleiss worked alongside Madison and Jenn at the residential facility, and was a pillar of support for the children there. Aleiss holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Wellness, and Alternative Medicine and is currently working as a school counselor.

Treasurer, Founding Member
Shawn: Supportive and engaging, he ensures that TSII continues to push forward with our mission. An Orlando native, Shawn is an avid traveler and loves activities such as basketball, volleyball, roller skating, and rock climbing. When the idea of Suitcase Initiative was conceived, Shawn was one of the first people to jump on board and help in any way he could. Shawn holds an Associate's degree in IT, is attending UCF for a Bachelor's in IT, and currently works as a valet.
Registered Agent for Florida, Founding Member
Jessica: Passionate about doing work that makes a difference in the lives of others. She loves the beach, gardening, and camping. Jessica has done so much to help TSII thrive, by assisting Madison and Shawn with any and all tasks that they need completed. Jessica holds a Bachelor's degree in political science and is currently working as a Bookkeeper for an engineering firm.
